Most often one job leads to another. This project started by as a simple concrete repair… the front entrance concrete had become cracked and posed a safety issue. Upon removal of the concrete slab it was found that water had been collecting under the wood siding and created quite a mess as a result. We had to remove a lot of rotted wood, re-structure, seal and paint.
With older homes (and business structures) it is important to “open up” a space and really investigate to really see what is happening. This is doubly important in remodels as it is impossible to know what work previous owners might have done, if it is up to code and to uncover any potential hazards.

Old homes have lots of character and charm. And, since each home owner wants to add their own touches, remodelling usually brings surprises. The home owners of this home wanted to replace the kitchen lanoliem floor with ceramic tile. Surprise! Upon removal of the old flooring we found several layers of lanoliem, subfloor, partial repairs and a huge slope (which required a lot of leveling). But, this is all typical of older homes and the finished project turned out great.

Here is a project that involved adding on to a small existing garage. Lakeside handled all aspects of this project from concrete work to the metal siding. From the photos we can see we did some structural repair to the existing garage as well. Framed up the new garage, hung doors and windows, as well as the garage doors, hung metal siding and installed a metal roof. With the assistance of local electrician, Thompson & Son Electrical (Guthrie Center) we ran the electrical wire and lighting for the new addition.
